about

Originally released in 2007 as a split CDr with Lilypad (John Elliott of Emeralds) on Cleveland noise king Wyatt Howland's label SKSK, "Five Of The Pieces" is now presented digitally with a fresh remix/remastering for optimum jamming. This album is five guitar meditations I was working on separately at the time, channeled into one composition almost a half-hour in length. I remember hearing "Music For 18 Musicians" by Steve Reich for the first time in the spring of 2007, and it immediately became one of my favorite pieces of music I had ever heard (which it still is to this day). I was so inspired by his rhythmic and harmonic structures and really felt they resonated something I had long been searching for. "Five Of The Pieces" did not nail what that was by any means, but it was the first shot at something I still feel I am trying to build and work on. Download also includes live set from November 1st, 2006
